Trade Pathway and Migration Skills Assessment

All trades such as carpentry, wall and floor tiling, bricklaying, plumbing, electrical, welding, plastering; all are on the skilled occupation lists, and applicants from all these occupations are receiving PR invitations consistently with relatively very low points; 65 points for subclass 189 and often only 50 points (excluding state points) for subclass 491. The invitations are being issued relatively fast as well compared to other occupations; often within 1 or, 2 months of EOI submission.

​If you are planning to study a trade course on a student visa, you'd genrally require to study for 2 years. If you meet other criteria, you'd also be eligible to apply for a 18-month post study work visa upon course completion; within this time, you'd need to gather at least 12 months of relevant work experience to be able to apply for a Migration Skills Assessment (MSA). After attaining a positive MSA, you can submit an EOI and await an invitation from states or from Federal Government through subclass 491, 190 or, 189.

If however, you intend to study whilst holding TR 485, TSS 482 dependent or, concurrently on your subclass 500 student visa, you may possibly be able to undertake a fast-track 1 Year course and get accreditation within 1 Year. 
Course fee for a 1 Year Trade course starts from AUD 8,000 with monthly instalment payment option and with an initial deposit of only AUD 1,000.
