February 2026 WA Invitation Round: Largest round of this FY, Invitations with 65 points

The February 2026 invitation round released by Migration Western Australia confirms continuous demand for trade occupations which were invited predominantly at 65 points under Schedule 2, and invitations issued beyond solely Western Australian residents, extending to interstate and overseas applicants. The round forms part of the skilled migration framework administered by Western Australia.

Invited Occupations

Applicants with Health occupations, Enrolled Nurse, Registered Nurse, Social Workers; all were invited with 85 points; for these same occupations, invitation cut-off points were relatively low and hovering around 80. All Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary Teachers were invited with the lowest cut-off points of 80; this is a significant comparison if you're on TR 485 or, considering to between Teaching or Nursing pathway. Despite the news, overwhelming supply, demand remains for Teachers in all spheres. At Newsted, we have deep understanding of Australian Migration and Education sector aligned with a deep rooted undersatdning of Australian demography.

Other States / Overseas applicants

Residency data again shows invitations were not confined to WA-only applicants, with selection extending to interstate and offshore candidates in eligible occupations. This indicates the state extended nominations beyond its onshore WA cohort where labour demand justified selection. The most significant data point from February relates to trade occupations. Sixteen trade occupations were invited at 65 points, confirming broad access at the minimum competitive threshold; which includes, Cabinetmaker (394111), Carpenter (331212), Fibrous Plasterer (333211), Solid Plasterer (333212).
