Working Holiday Visa for Indonesians

The Australian Government has confirmed the annual cap for the Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) for the 2025–2026 program year, and Indonesia remains one of the top countries, with 5,000 visa places available.

This is a great opportunity for young Indonesians who want to live, work, and travel in Australia for up to 12 months. You can also extend your visa up to 3 years. ​

What is the Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)?

The Work and Holiday visa (subclass 462) is a temporary visa that allows young people from eligible countries, including Indonesia, to enjoy a working holiday in Australia. The visa is valid for 12 months, and holders can:

  • Travel around Australia

  • Working Full-Time

  • Study for up to 4 months

  • Extend their stay by applying for a second or third WHV (if eligible)

Key Eligibility Criteria

  1. Be between 18 and 30 years old (including 18 and 30) when you apply

  2. Have finished a Diploma or at least 2 years of university study

  3. Apply from Indonesia (you must be in Indonesia when applying)

  4. Have a minimum score of English Score (IELTS: Overall 4.5; PTE: 48)

  5. Have never had a Work and Holiday visa before

  6. Have minimum savings of AU $5,000 

  7. Be in good health and have no serious criminal record

  8. Get a Letter of Support from the Indonesian Directorate General of Immigration (SDUWHV)

How to get SDUWHV?
The Letter of Support from Indonesian Government (SDUWHV) is a document for Indonesian citizens applying for the Australian Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462). Here's what to prepare for the SDUWHV:

  1. English Test Score (IELTS/PTE)

  2. Academic Documents (Transcripts, and Certificate)

  3. Bank statement showing sufficient funds (approximately AU $5,000 ≈ 50-55 juta IDR)

  4. Have a valid Indonesian passport with at least 18 months left before it expires at the time you apply.

  5. Identity Card (KTP)

  6. Photo with white background

Opening date of SDUWHV

There isn’t a set opening date for the SDUWHV Letter of Support from the Indonesian Government. The Directorate General of Immigration will announce the start of applications each year. It’s important to prepare all your documents beforehand to avoid missing the application period.
